I spent two wonderful weeks at the resort and I recommend it to you. The setting is beautiful, we have the feet in the sea within ten meters of the room and every night the sunsets are really beautiful . The rooms are simple, clean and really cheap compared to the prices of the island, I think this resort is also one of the cheapest in Bohol. The best thing of Seaside was the friendly staff. I travel often but I have never been feeling so welcome. All local surroundings familiar seaside and often spend their afternoons at the pool or in the cottages which enables to meet many Filipinos, most of whom have become my friends. If you want to learn how to live, eat and smile as the locals , this is the perfect place. Thank you to Gemma and Bruce for their welcome and I would definitely come back during my next vacation in Philippines.
Seaside staff are very lovely and friendly people! From the first moment they did everything to make me feel like home. As a volunteer, I had an exquisite bonding session, followed by a videoke at night the very first day. People are not even colleagues, they are like family members. The food is very simple, but good. Palud is to be avoided for western pallet though.
It is possible to learn a lot of new things everyday here in Seaside when one is eager to talk to the different people, like recipes for cooking with Juliet, dancing moves with Sherilyn, love tips with Ronald. As for the swimming pool, I don't use it much but it is really great to chill out after a full day exploring Bohol. The scenery here is also awesome , it is a mix of infinite "seaside" view, mangrova forest, and there is this river joining the Bohol Sea on which one can rent Banana Boat. It is also possible to drive a motorcycle for cheap, and Dimiao is a very good entry point to travel around Bohol, being not too far from amazing fishermen villages such as Laoay, Lila ... and the mountains (a.k.a Chocolate Hills in Carmen)
Thank you very much for everything!
I have a really great time and enjoy our stay a lot !!
PS : Special dedication message for Sheila who tried her best to speak English (maybe, I don't know..)
This place is well known by the local People all around. I met allot of local Philipinos there, enjoyed the Beach and the Bar.
Every Weekend it's Party time and on the Day you can rent a Motorcycle or just relax on the Beach or the Pool.
If you like Karaoke the staff and the locals really like to enjoy the time with you there.
Was there for two weeks in June 2015 and will miss that place!
I spent quite some time at Seaside Beach Resort in winter 2015. I have to say, this place is simply amazing.
As you walk in you will be welcomed by a friendly stuff and you will find everything you need.
The ocean, the drinks, the pool, great people, the restaurant right inside, I think there's many reasons why people would love to come here.
I highly recommend it.
I actually visited Seaside as part of a work exchange program Gemma and Bruce host for travelers on a budget. After nearly a two week stay at Seaside I'm wondering where the work part comes in? The entire staff at Seaside is incredibly friendly and genuinely wants to get to know their visitors, something essential for me when I travel. I felt at home after only a few days and made friends I'll keep in touch with for years. I can't say much about the food, accommodation or pool as Seaside was undergoing a remodel during my visit, but I have faith that as the changes are complete this will be a magnificent place for locals and tourists alike. Great place to make new friends, relax and of course enjoy a red horse or two 😉
I spent 3 weeks at Seaside in December 2014 and had an awesome time. All members of staff are really friendly and welcoming so that you'll feel at home in no time. At Seaside you'll get the chance to mingle with locals, participate in Filipino pastimes such as the infamous videoke and have fun parties. Seaside is located right next to the sea and has got a brand new swimming pool too. So the choice is yours where you swim and enjoy a sunbath. There's also plenty of stuff to do outside Seaside and there's always someone around to help you organize a trip.
I was very sad to leave as I had made a lot of new friends but I was also sure I'd be back soon! 🙂
Seaside Beach Resort is a very, very special place. Located right on the beach in Dimiao, it's a beautiful area without too many people. Yet, its less than an hours drive to Tagbalaran, Jagna, and the big attractions on the island like the tarsier reserve, the chocolate hills, and the zip line spanning the massive gorge in Lobac. You can explore a lovely sandy beach to the east, or the rocky tide pools teaming with life to the west, both immediately next to the resort. Both beaches are nearly empty all day, and you can enjoy having the place all to yourself. However, nearly every night the bar fills with locals coming to rumpa rumpa (party party), so you can make many Filipino friends very easily. I can not put into words how amazing the staff is, or how wonderful the owner. Everyone always did a superb job of making sure I had something to do, eat, and drink. The staff was very happy to spend their free time chatting it up. Never was I at a loss for someone to talk to, though I stayed there alone. The owner was very kind and let me borrow her motor bike for one whole day, I only had to pay for gas. She also took me, some of the staff, and several other friends out on a boat trip to Pamalican island one day. She provided the food, I merely had to rent the boat for a very reasonable price. Actually, I think I only payed for gas for the boat as well. She also allowed me to go with the staff for free in her boat another day, traveling the much shorter distance to Bajang springs. The food is delicious (try the spaghetti with red sauce) and both food and drink are very reasonably priced. The thatched roof huts, to my surprise, hold up without a leak in the rain. The rooms are nice, big beds and clean. Only cold showers, but at this price in this location you will be hard pressed to find a hot one I think. The KTV starts a little early sometimes, 10:30 or 11:00 AM, too early for someone recovering from a hangover. However, I was easily able to escape down the beach and nap in the sun. Also, the owner said she is working on sound proofing the bar so the noise stays inside. I wish I could give this place 6 starts, seriously in all my travels I have never felt so well taken care of. Staying here felt more like visiting old, dear friends than meeting staff at a resort. I can not wait to return. Go to Seaside, you will fall in love with the place as I have.
Spent 2 days at Seaside relaxing in the hammocks by the sea, swimming in the ocean. The WIFI was so fast really surprised us. Liked our room, A/C and everything. We loved the food they had not to high cause we had little monies. Hated to leave but the owner even gave us a ride with his truck for free. Everyone was so nice to us.
Came from America to visit our family, they suggested we go to Seaside it's a new place with cottages by the ocean and is not to expensive. The place was real good, we all had so much fun, the kids went swimming with their enter tubes they rented while we talked and ate and drank by the ocean. The staff is very accommodating, very clean place. Highly recommend Seaside ...so much to do.
Came with my friend from Cebu to relax and have fun. The owners and staff were so nice, we ate at their restaurant and everything was so good. The view, the beach, the rooms all very accommodating . My friend even made sand sculptures so he was happy. We sing videoke the next day after disco the night before. This was my second time at Seaside. I will be back with more friends.
